In 1996, Horacio was driving his Chevy truck on the streets of Dinuba thinking about troubled youth in his neighborhood and wondering how he could help them. He happened to drive by a group of boys who showed their approval of Aleman’s truck with a thumbs-up sign.

For Horacio, it was a sign from above. He would hold a Christian-theme car show to attract teens and tell them about the Lord. And he’s done that for the past 14 years.

The annual Cruising for Jesus Car Show has its home show at C.F. Mueller Park in Reedley, California. Scores of cars are entered in the showing, including bicycles. Plaques are provided by the Rotary Club of Reedley. Every year the car show grows, many times with over 2,000 attending.

Rod Harms, owner of Rod’s Body and Paint, said the service club views the event as one way to provide young people with a positive outlet. “I was impressed with what I saw at the first car show. The word of Christ was being expressed in skits, music and testimony. This doesn’t solve all the problems, but it gives youth someone and a new angle to look at life.”

En 1996, Horacio conducía su camión Chevy en las calles de Dinuba su pensamiento sobre la juventud agitada en su barrio y preguntando se cómo él podría ayudarlos. Él le sucedió a la unidad por un grupo de muchachos que mostró su aprobación del camión de Alemán con un pulgares-up signo.

Para Horacio, era un signo desde arriba. Que mantendría un show de coche de tema Christiano para atraer a los adolescentes y decirles sobre el Señor. Y lo que ha hecho durante los últimos 14 años.

El Cruising For Jesús Car Show tiene su casa en el parque Mueller Park en Reedley, California. Decenas de automóviles se introducen en la exhibición, incluyendo bicicletas. Placas son proporcionados por el Rotary Club de Reedley. Cada año el espectáculo de coche crece, muchas veces con más de 2.000 asistiendo.
